Steve is not an impulsive man, the opposite of me. He buys every magazine available and reads reviews before he buys anything but tonight he made an impulse buy. I was teaching at Pickleberry for the evening and he went off to a car auction to help buy our eldest, Billy, a car. I muttered about being left with arrangements to make for Georgina and had to drive her to her cousins for the evening in the opposite direction of the shop.
Class finished at 9pm and I was rushing everyone out so that I could get over to collect her and back home for bed as soon as I could. Steve called to say that he was nearly at the shop and needed house keys so I waited in the car park for him to turn up. As I waited a big car pulled in, a Jaguar, I had to move to let it past and thought it was one of the posh neighbours. Steve was at the wheel, I couldn't understand why Billy had bought a Jag when he could barely afford insurance on a little car. Then he asked if I liked my new car! I think I had a mild outburst of bad language but the answer was yes, I do like my new car. A Jaguar s-type. I'm in shock but looking forward to a drive out tomorrow. It's this colour and model but a newer car. Posh.
My studio is filling up with 'pieces of me' now, gifts from dear friends and some of my work is making it more homely and a pleasure to work in. I went down today and remembered my camera. These are some of my favourite little bits:
My birdhouse, a birthday present. I love the colours and the flower pattern, it hangs just above my workspace
My frog prince.
My knitted dog
and my notebook hoard. There are more photographs in my photo gallery.
